Shaté L. Edwards has a MFA in Dance as well as a dance career that spans well over a decade. After graduating with honors from the prestigious Spelman College, she performed extensively throughout the U.S. and China. Her work has been commissioned by performance companies throughout the country, and she has choreographed over a dozen musicals including a recent critically acclaimed regional production of The Color Purple - The Musical.
The Star Telegram called her a "talent to watch", and The Dallas Morning News described her movement as "alone worth the price of admission." In addition to choreographing productions and teaching classes both domestically and abroad, she also inspires others to experience more peace, purpose, and positivity through her company, The Working Dancer.
